ABOUT FEARLESS

Fearless helps local theatrical artists try new things and develop original ideas that push the boundaries and offer bold social commentary.

Our mission

Fearless supports local artists in daring to develop original, high-quality works for the stage that entertain, engage, and enlighten audiences. We accomplish this by providing both opportunities and support for artists to develop their talents and ideas.

Our vision

We envision a world where theater artists have the opportunities and support they need to take risks and tell daring stories – stories that both delight and challenge audiences to think about the world around them and their place in it.

Our values

Boldness. We believe in being fearless, whether it’s trying something new, pushing the boundaries of art, or speaking the truth.

Collaboration. We believe everyone has something to contribute, so we make sure to include others in our work and support them in theirs.

Joy. We create art because it feeds our souls and we want others to feel the same.

Progressivism. We seek to advance the human condition through greater social and environmental consciousness and reforms that ensure everyone has a dignified life, no matter who they are, where they come from, or their walk of life.

Learning. We believe we all have something to learn and we know that our work and our art always has room to grow.

Quality. We strive to deliver exciting, worthwhile, and rewarding experiences for our staff, volunteers, artists, and audiences.

Our approach

We create opportunities

A big hurdle to developing an original work is simply getting the chance to work on it or present it to others. Fearless works to create opportunities for artists to share their ideas and perform for an audience, whether it is a finished work or a work in progress.

We provide support

It’s one thing to have an idea, but developing that idea into a fully-formed, high-quality show is much easier with support from others. Fearless helps artists collaborate, get feedback, and develop both their ideas and their own talents to realize their visions.

What does it mean to be “fearless”?

Taking risks and trying new things

Whether it’s stepping into a new role or creating something new for the first time, trying new things requires the courage to face the unknown.

Pushing the boundaries

There are certain norms and expectations when people go to the theater, so pushing the boundaries of what theater can do can be risky and uncomfortable and exciting.

Making bold commentary

Speaking the truth about the world around us can offend or make others uncomfortable, especially in a world that is so often divided and problems can be so polarizing.
